Here are some news about Everybody’s Fine premiere.

Now hear this: Kirk Jones’ “Everybody’s Fine,” which stars Robert De Niro as a widower who embarks on a road trip to reconnect with his grown children (Drew Barrymore, Kate Beckinsale and Sam Rockwell) after the death of his wife, will premiere at the AFI Fest 2009 on Nov. 3 at Grauman’s Chinese Theater in Hollywood. No word on whether reps of the picture, a remake of Giuseppe Tornatore’s “Stanno Tutti Bene,” will hand out handkerchiefs at the screening, but De Niro and Beckinsale are expected to attend. Pete Hammond has already pegged the flick as one to keep an eye on this awards season.

The fest has also announced its selections for the New Lights Competition, which pays tribute to first- and second-time directors. Among the films in this year’s lineup is Oren Moverman’s wartime drama “The Messenger,” with Woody Harrelson; “Northless,” from Mexico’s Rigoberto Perezcano, and “Police, Adjective,” the winner of the Cannes Un Certain Regard jury prize.
